NEXO MAKES WEST END THEATRE DEBUT IN LONDON'S SOHO
Soho Theatre Company has been making its mark on the streets of London for over 40 years. In 2011, it opened a new 150 seat comedy and cabaret venue, created out of downstairs space that formerly housed an Indian restaurant. Now known as Soho Theatre Downstairs, the space seats its audiences around tables and serves up three shows a night until 1am. During the day, the room can be cleared to use a rehearsal space or hired as a cabaret-style venue, with its own bar.
This small auditorium is very atmospheric with a low ceiling, demanding a PA system that was as compact as possible, while providing the necessary audience coverage. The NEXO PS range was the perfect solution - 2 x PS10-R2, a PS8 for infill and NX4X1 and NX4X4 Amplifiers with digital Controller. NEXO LS1200 subs were supplied by SSE Audio and a custom preset was written especially for the NXAMP to match the set up to the venue.
SSE also installed a Mains Distribution and Equipment rack, together with a complete Theatre line system, designed to allow ultimate flexibility for the future.
SSE Audio Group's London Operations Director, Emma Bigg, commented: "We are very excited to be working with such a forward thinking and innovative venue. It provides an opportunity for future collaboration in terms of training and allows us to extend our work in Theatre."
