NEXO AT LIBERATION FESTIVAL IN ASSEN, THE NETHERLANDS
Every year on May 5th, Holland celebrates liberation day with a festival held in the capital city of every province. In Assen, capital of Drenthe, one of the northern provinces in The Netherlands, there were in total 5 stages built in the centre of the town. Four of these stages were equipped with NEXO FOH and monitor systems.
Over 35,000 visitors came to hear and see several well-known Dutch artists such as BEEF, (a reggae band), Lange Frans & Baas B (Contemporary Hip-Hop) and 100% ISIS (one of the first Dutch female DJ's).
The main stage was equipped with a NEXO GEO T system and 16x PS15 cabinets were used for monitoring. Stage 2 had an ALPHA system as FOH and used 10x PS10s and 4x PS15s as wedges. Stages 3 and 4 were both equipped with an AlphaE system and for these stages another 10x PS10s and 4x PS15s were in use as wedges.
DIA Licht en Geluid, the rental company who was hired to do the job, worked closely together with a couple of other rental companies (GSN and PA Geluid) in order to have enough NEXO gear for all four stages.
First reactions of the organisation and the city officials were very positive with regards to the audio quality, dispersion and speech intelligibility of the NEXO systems.
