NEXO’s classic mid-size line array, the GEO S12, has been chosen by Club Żak in Gdansk. The oldest student venue in Poland, Żak is known throughout the country as the place where Polish rock ‘n’ roll first began in the 1960s. Today it is an urban cultural centre and modern arthouse, with a fine auditorium for its diverse musical and dance events.

With capacity for 200 seated or 600 standing, the Suwnicowa Auditorium hosts a wide variety of music – European, Asian, jazz, dance music and Polish avant-garde. Flagship events include the International Jazz Jantar Festival and the Gdansk Dance Fest.

For some years, Club Żak has hired in a NEXO GEO S8 line array system for its live concerts. In 2017, the venue appointed Lauda Audio to design a fixed system, choosing the GEO S12 mid-size line array, supplemented with NEXO’s RS18 subbass.

The upgrade has given Żak a left/right system with 6x GEO S1230 cabinets each side of the stage, with 2x RS18 subs per side. There are a pair of PS10s to handle the small balcony running down one side of the hall. The S12 system delivers unrivalled cardioid focus and fidelity, and is extremely versatile – running over a Dante network which allows the Yamaha M7CL digital front-of-house console to be operated in several positions around the auditorium.

“The GEO S12 has an excellent price/performance ratio,” says Lauda Audio’s Maciej Olejniczak. “The technical reliability of the equipment, plus the fact that it is completely rider-friendly, make this a very good investment for the club.“
