GEO M10 LINE ARRAY FOR RENTAL & INSTALLATION

Pulse PA, the fast-expanding audio rental house on the south coast of England, has made a substantial investment in NEXO’s new GEO M10 mid-size line array, adding the system to rental stock and also specifying it for one of the first installations in a music venue in the UK.

Ralph Walsh, MD of Pulse PA, has chosen a combination of M10 line array modules with partner MSUB15 subwoofers for his touring system, making its debut with English musician David Essex. The system is groundstacked in smaller venues, for up to 500 people, with 3x M10s and 3x MSUB15s per side.

“We can expand the system to 12x M10s, with 6x MSUB15s and 4x LS18s if needed. This will run off a single NUAR, which is an awful lot of sound off just two NXAMP4x4s. It’s such a light weight system, just 21kg a box, or 126 kgs for a case of six modules which I can wheel up a ramp of my own! We’re going to be using this system a helluva lot!”

A long-time NEXO house, Pulse PA also carries NEXO STM S118, RS18 and LS18 subs, which Pulse PA can interchange for heavy rock or reggae performances. In its first fixed installation, the company has paired GEO M10 with RS18s for the Mr Kyps live music venue in Poole, Dorset.

Replacing a NEXO GEO S12 system installed a few years ago, Walsh has specified 3x M1012 main modules and 1x M1025 downfill per side, with RS18 subs, and a pair of ID24 compacts for frontfill.

“There’s so much headroom, it is unbelievable,” says Walsh. “The M10 is very gentle and musical, with great detail and sonic clarity. The 10” cabinet is tighter in the mid-frequencies than a 12” and this is great for vocals. The MSUB15s punch nicely, and the cardioid application is absolutely superb.”

“The GEO M10 was always going to be a good product, given NEXO’s prodigious success with the PS10 over the last 20 years. This new mid-size array sits perfectly between the GEO M6 and the STM Series. As we start to do more theatre work, the GEO M10 will be a key system for us; we’d have no hesitation in using the system for audiences up to 2000. I can see our business expanding with this system.”
