With roots in pioneering acoustic design and revolutionising spatial audio with digital technology, Yamaha’s SoundxR program is driven by the vision to bring immersive experiences to everyone.
In virtual spaces, SoundxR Core creates new levels of engagement for gamers and users of VR, while AFC (Active Field Control) delivers richly immersive experiences to audiences and event visitors in the real world.
New at ISE 2025, NEXO’s DME10 is a powerful 256×256 Dante-equipped immersive audio processor featuring up to 128 in / 64 out AFC Image object-based mixing with sophisticated 3-Dimensional reverberation.
And such is the processing power of the DME10, separate speaker system and immersive processors are no longer required. Running 128 x 64 immersive processing only uses around 50% of the DME10’s available resource, leaving plenty of capacity for additional audio processing.
Together, Yamaha group companies combine to create a complete technical solution and seamless workflow for the creation and delivery of immersive sound installations and events of every scale.
As the most advanced audio post-production solution available, Steinberg’s Nuendo is the choice of film, TV, game audio and immersive sound industry professionals worldwide, and a vital tool in creating the soundtrack to many high-profile productions, products and installations.
The sound image and reverberation control provided by Yamaha’s pioneering AFC (Active Field Control) lies at the heart of countless immersive audio productions and visitor experiences around the world, with Yamaha digital consoles recognised as an industry standard for audio mixing in fixed installations and for live events.
The Yamaha DME7 processor with Yamaha loudspeakers provides an elegant solution for smaller immersive sound installations and events, while NEXO’s new DME10 processor combines with the company’s powered TD Controllers and point source and line array loudspeaker systems to create solutions for applications of any scale up to the very largest.
NEXO’s NS-1 system configuration and simulation software now includes AFC Design Assistant for defining the quantity, density and placement of speakers, before predicting their performance and audience coverage. The speaker configuration can then be exported directly to AFC Image Controller for object-based mixing of the sources in the 3-D space.
Alongside other powerful immersive audio features including the ability to connect with external renderers such as Dolby Atmos to combine live performance with pre-recorded immersive soundtracks, the DME10 is also a sophisticated, open architecture digital signal processor with superior musical expression and all the features required to create and control conventional, large-scale sound systems.
The ProVisionaire Software Suite supports the entire workflow with ProVisionaire Cloud for license management and software implementation, ProVisionaire Design for flexible system design and full control of audio parameters, and ProVisionaire Control Plus and Kiosk for the creation and deployment of custom control panels.
“The new DME10 completes an impressive immersive audio technology offering from Yamaha group companies, with scalable solutions from small applications using Yamaha speakers through to large installations and events using NEXO point source speakers from the ID and P+ Series, and GEO M line arrays” comments NEXO Sales and Marketing Director Gareth Collyer from NEXO’s immersive sound demo room at ISE 2025.
“What’s more, the combination of technologies from the group brings a unique and seamless workflow from content creation to production, something that no other manufacturer can provide.”
